Just to let you know our schedule this past Saturday: (this can be considered as contraception
) … sorry for the grammar…
7:05 – Woken up by kids, terrible headache (probably the impact of 2.5 glasses of wine)
7:06-8:55 – Trying to survive
9:05 – Paul told the kids they were going to buy fish, everybody including Paula got excited … so more than obvious I have to go as well, as Paul can’t take care of 3 kids, fish, tank when leaving the store…
9:06 – 9:40 – Prepare clothes for everybody for all day, and quickly get dressed myself (since I was in survival mode and I was still in pj’s…) I decided to skip the make up, hoping I will not meet anybody I know, then I got the kids to the car
9:50 -Arrived to the pet store, but realize it doesn’t open until 10. Great! I have 10 mins, I can get a coffee…. no…… Paula needs to go quickly to the bathroom, so we go to the Walmart which is across the street, which is full of people… of course, the rest room on the other side of the store…. once we get there Paula announces she doesn’t need to pee anymore….
10:01… Sweating, got to the car, go across the street to the pet store… kids are excited… mostly by mice, lizard and rabbits…. of course they want all of them… Pavel is excited by the bugs and worms that they are selling there… Paul wants to buy a bird… Unfortunately, he is not kidding… Feel like in a madhouse! It’s a good thing I went to the store, or else I could have ended up with a mouse, lizard and bird + a bunch of ugly, yaki worms, bugs and not sure what else was there… After 30 minutes in the store, long discussions about why we’re not getting any other animals but fish, we end up buying the fish. The boys got excited when choosing the fish tank with different design…Thank God!
10:55 – Got home, and I finally get to go take a relaxing shower and wash my hair as didn’t have time on the morning… I didn’t plan to have the pet store as a family trip! The rest of the family is taking out all the fish equipment…. nope, I get pulled out of the shower, shampoo in one eye, to look for the bath thermometer, since the boys and Paul decide that fish needs to have a certain temperature… gave the friggen thermo to Paul
11:35 – Leave the house with the clothes for the rest of the day as Pavel goes to a birthday party, Petr has a play day after skating, which means first we’re heading to the arena for skating
12:00 – Boys on the ice, skating for 50 minutes… Paul and Paula went home to get toothbrushes, as kids didn’t brush their teeth…. I am watching the boys skating, then realized that I feel really cold… hmm didn’t have time to dry my hair… I decide to go to the restaurant area where is warmer and I can still watch kids.
12:50 – Boys get off the ice, we change their shoes and take off their snow pants; then it’s time to get Paula ready for the ice… Meanwhile we make sure the boys brush their teeth, and Pavel end up cleaning the arena’s sink with his toothbrush… which naturally ended up in the garbage. Toothbrush… not Pavel ![]()
1:20 -1:45 – Boys eat everything bagel with cheddar cheese… It took them 20 min + drinking the water from the water fountain…. drinking about 10 times and after each time wiping their hands and mouth and getting wet… Time to go to the car, give boys new clothes… time to go…
2 – Left Petr in his friend’s house for play day
2-3 – Drive to Glen Williams for the party
3:05 Arrived at Glen Williams park for the party and Easter egg hunt. The original plan to go for shopping with Paula isn’t going to happen anymore, as there are swings and slides and so on in the park and she is glued to them
3:05 – 4:40 Playing in the park, saving the kids which got stuck on the climbers, spill coffee all over myself when sliding down (high slide, purse, coffee in my hand… Paula in the neighboring slide… as we did count down for the double slide…… saving Paula from the dogs… as 3 Labradors were there, very friendly, until they realize you have food which they urgently need… ![]()
5:15 – Arrive home, leave kids with Paul, go to the store… as I need to buy food and something for kids since Sunday is Easter – then go to pick up Petr -
8:15 Additional shopping with Petr, then drive home
8:20 – 9:15 – Empty the car, gave to kids some strawberries and cream… realized I forgot to buy sliced cheese which Paula was waiting for, but strawberries were enough good distraction
get the kids to brush their teeth, go to the bed… they need to tell us so many important things… (anything what will delay the time to go bed is super-serious and requires immediate discussion
)
9:40 – After several bathroom breaks… when nothing happened… and looking for all possible dollies and long discussions about why some people can’t read in the dark… kids are sleeping…
That certainly is a busy day Pavla! As you said, it’s good contraceptive advice!
All of us at Tokii wish you a very happy Mother’s Day this Sunday and hope that Paul makes some trades along the lines of “I’ll do everything for you all day if in return you’ll do absolutely nothing!”
