Mother’s Day in Perspective

Mother’s Day in Perspective

I’ll admit it, not only was I bratty, I was the “numero uno” BRAT in my family!  In my eyes, my mom didn’t know anything and I let her know this every chance I got. They say that you never really appreciate your mom until you become one yourself and then it hits you like a ton of bricks! Whoever They are, they’re pretty smart!

When I was thirty I became a step-mom to two boys and soon thereafter gave birth to a son of my own. Now I was a mother and had to make tough parental decisions just like my mom had done. I found myself thinking, “what would mom do in similar situations?”

If you’re fortunate enough to still have your mom in your life, make sure you let her know how you feel! But don’t let it stop after
Mother’s Day. Your mom worked 360 days a year for you, so why not tell her everyday how grateful you are.  Love you, Mom!

We’ve looked at Mother’s Day from all the angles. Tokii has put together a great collection of thoughts, stories and letters about Moms in the 21st century

A HARD DAY TO STEP UP

In particular, one day each year, a stepmom is reminded that her heart is lined by a struggle for acceptance she knows she’ll probably never have
