Mamma Mia!

My Mom! “I can’t live with her and I can’t live without her!” I think we’ve all said this at one time or another, right? Well I say this or think it quite often! Obviously I wouldn’t be here if not for her! And yet, no one drives me as crazy as my mom does! So to be fair for this Mother’s Day, I stepped back to reflect on my Mom’s attributes and then looked into a 3-D mirror to compare us, the good, bad & maybe just a little ugly!

The greatest compliment I can give my Mom is to point out that I married a guy who has her qualities. Did I unconsciously seek these out in a mate, or did I become attracted by these very attributes, as I had relied on them all my life and therefore recognized their value? I suppose that’s a question for Dr. Freud! My husband hates to hear this comparison but trust me; these are all admirable traits & skills that I do not readily possess:

Mom, I wish I had these qualities but I don’t. But hey, don’t despair because here are our similarities for better or for worse:

Mom & I:

The bottom line is that my environment may have influenced my character and my characteristics but without doubt, Mom you have given me your genes both good and quirky and you know what? I wouldn’t want it any other way! Mom, we are not perfect but pretty darn good! So thank you for being my Mom!

One Response to “Mamma Mia!”

What a wonderful tribute to your Mom! Kathy and I both loved what it spoke to and how it spoke of the unique qualities that make
us each individuals. Keep up the great work and please give Auntie Nancy a hug from Hughie the next time you see her.

    With Gratitude,
